The Foo lab relies heavily on the Adeno-associated viruses (AAV) platform for in vivo gene delivery. This was a methodology established by advice from Dr Jiang Jianming (Biochemistry, NUS). AAVs enables the delivery of the gene of interest or RNAi or gRNA to specific cells in-vivo. It produces minimal adverse effects and persistent gene expression in various tissues and cells, without integrating to the host genome, making it an attractive vector platform.
Our lab produces different AAV serotypes and we have the capacity to generate up to 400 plates of AAVs a week to support the different projects in the lab and collaboration projects across Singapore.
